Known. A broken stone shows the goddess Ishtar inside a star.
The piece came from her temple at Nimrud in Iraq. Beside the temple was a palace about 2,800 years old, built for King Adad-Nirari III, who ruled from 810 to 783 BC. The dig leader says this is the first clear picture from that temple of Ishtar as the morning star. She is linked with the planet Venus. Other finds were stone slabs that list earlier kings, huge bases for roof columns, and brass bands from a wide gateway, carved with soldiers, horses, and people carrying gifts.
The page does not say what is still argued.
