Pacopampa is in the Cajamarca region of northern Peru, high in the Andes. This culture lived there from about 1,200 to 500 BC. The grave is about 3,000 years old, around 1,000 BC. It is a round pit about 3 metres across and about 1 metre deep. The body was laid face down. Small round ceramic bowls were placed beside it.

The page says no one knows why the body was placed face down.
