Known. Cremated remains of a woman were found in a dune by dry Lake Mungo.

Lake Mungo is in western New South Wales, on country of the Paakantyi/Barkindji, Ngiyampaa, and Mutthi Mutthi peoples. The remains, known as Mungo Lady, are about 40,000 years old. They are among the oldest known human remains in Australia. Remains of a man of about the same age were found nearby.
