Known. A small Maya settlement stood beside a natural well.
The site is K'oxol Ja' II, in Yucatán, Mexico. Pots date people there from about 400 BC to AD 900. There are 21 structures. Most are low stone bases of houses, not palaces or temples. The main cenote, a natural well, still has part of a stone rim that changed the entrance and probably helped control the water.
The page only suggests that a place called El Chiik may have governed the settlement.
