A farming town before the Phoenicians

Kach Kouch, Morocco. about 1300 to 900 BC. First cities. Debated. Free

Debated. People were already living in houses here before the Phoenicians arrived.

At Kach Kouch, in north-west Morocco, near the Strait of Gibraltar, people used the site from about 2200 to 600 BC. From about 1300 to 900 BC, farmers lived in wooden houses made with mud brick. They cut pits in the rock to store grain, and they used grinding stones. They grew barley and wheat, and they kept sheep, goats and cattle. Chipped stone tools were in the ground.
