These were not real giants.
Debated. The figures are tall statues, not living giants.
At Mont'e Prama, near Cabras in Sardinia, stone statues of boxers, archers, and warriors stood over tombs. They are about 2.30 metres tall. The page says an early date was not completely certain. Later tests place the site between 1100 and 800 BC. Bones from the tombs belonged to young men.
The page says no one knows for sure who broke the statues, or why.
