Two carved stones show a warrior and a rider

Gotlur, Andhra Pradesh. the ninth or tenth century AD. Last 1,000 years. Monsters and heroes. Debated. Free

The page does not show an epic battle on these two stones.

Debated. They are called hero stones, but the headline promises battle stories the pictures do not show.

In Andhra Pradesh, one stone stands in a field east of Gotlur village. It shows a standing man with a headband, earrings, and necklaces, and with weapons in his hands. Another stone, in Nelampadu village, shows a man riding a galloping horse. From the clothes and weapons, the page dates both to the ninth or tenth century AD.

The page does not say what is still argued.
