Known. Scrap bronze and metal ingots lay by a cape.
Off Cape Gelidonya, in south-western Turkey, a ship from about 1200 BC left its cargo near rocky islets. The finds are mostly a metalworker’s tools and materials: scrap bronze tools and weapons, copper ingots, tin ingots, stone polishers, and a stone that may be an anvil. The ship seems to have torn its hull on a rock by the island called Devecitasi Adasi. The page says it most likely belonged to a travelling metalworker from Cyprus, Syria, or Phoenicia.
Archaeologists are still not sure if he was moving home or travelling to work.
