No wooden hull was found, only the cargo on the seabed.
Debated. The find is a merchant’s pots, not the ship’s wood.
Near the island of Dokos, in the Aegean Sea off southern Greece, the cargo lay about 15 to 30 metres down. It dates to about 2700 to 2200 BC, in the Proto-Helladic age. More than 15,000 pottery pieces and whole pots were recorded. There were sauce boats, jars, baking trays, basins, amphoras, cups, and urns, and large millstones. Two stone anchors, boulders with a hole through each, lay nearby. Many of the pots seem to come from the Argolid, for trade with villages around the nearby gulfs.
The page says no one knows how or why the ship sank.
