Debated. People do not agree what the stamps mean.
At Phaistos, on the south coast of Crete, a fired clay disc was found in a room under an old palace. It is about 15 centimetres across and about 1 centimetre thick. Both sides have a spiral of stamped signs. The page says there are 45 different signs. It does not give one sure age. Dating ideas run from 1700 BC to 1400 BC.
People still argue what the signs mean, which way to read them, and whether the disc is even real. Most experts treat it as real. No reading has been agreed.
